KAYTEA was founded by Kevin in the summer of 2019. Having lived in many parts of Asia and Canada, Kevin grew up experiencing many traditional and modern twists of tea cultures. When he first moved to the UK, he absolutely loved the afternoon tea experience, but wanted more varieties and flavours. The journey began when Kevin started experimenting with unconventional blends, pairing complementary ingredients that create unique flavours and aromas. When people kept coming back for more of his iced teas and matcha lattes at pop-ups and events, he decided to pursue his passion – to make tea fun and relevant for a new generation!
Our Brand and Values
Beauty of balance
Our core value as a brand is to distill an appreciation for harmony – life enhanced through elevated flavours, variety and community. As a company, we understand the strength in togetherness whether it is the delicate coupling of complementary flavours and teas, or understanding the uniqueness and difference of others, and connecting more so because of that.
Bring together complementary flavours and complimentary people
Our mission is to bring people together over tea. We want to place tea back in the centre of focus again, building genuinely delightful experiences with and around it.
We’re tired of hearing the same story about tea in any form. Consumers either experience dull tea (dust) bags or artificially sweet iced teas, and we believe tea deserves better. Through innovation and a deep appreciation for delicate flavour pairings, we want to step away from the generic alternatives and let every ingredient shine on its own.
Tea is just a drink, right?
Nahhh. Worldwide, tea is and always has been a catalyst for connection. We feel that people should be brought closer together through genuine experiences. We care about ‘togetherness’; we want people to share KAYTEA, share moments over KAYTEA and share values with KAYTEA.
Ethical sourcing policy
As an innovator of blends, we trade our ingredients from all over the world, and all teas can be traced back to source. We use organic ingredients in some of our flavours, but due to the complex nature of our blends, we are unable to source all of them as organic. Our suppliers screen and audit, with thorough documentation of handling processes to ensure food safety and quality. Many of our teas are from Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, and Ethical Tea Partnership affiliated estates to ensure ethical farming practices and welfare of its employees. Some of the tea estates even have their own CSR initiatives like this!
